Read MoreIt's been a while since I've done a multi day bike camping trip. A few emails between my good buddies/teammate, Seth and Dave, and we were off on a nice long weekend adventure. The plan was to make our way to Connecticut and over to Massachusetts. Seth had researched a nice shelter along the Appalachian Trail a top Mount Everett that seemed like a perfect spot set up camp.

Designed like a Rando bag, but sized for a Porteur rack, this bag has the best of both worlds! Randonneuring is a cycling discipline where you ride a long distance in minimal time with little to no support. This requires easy access to food, rain gear and maps; exactly what this bag provides! It has a clear top case and compartments that face you while riding. Made for large porteur style racks, like those from Pass and Stow, Velo Orange, and Soma because bigger racks secure your load better. Just two buckles to remove! Don't worry about lugging around a big box like other Porteur bags. This one automatically collapses into a stylish shoulder bag when you remove two plastic inserts. For bikepacking, commuting, touring, and any type of bicycle riding!
I rarely get on the north side of Mt. Tam so I put this route together to ride trails over the mountain and into Pt. Reyes National Seashore!

Read MoreOne interpretation of the perfect daily bag. Tailored to torso length like a backpacking bag but small enough to avoid a waist strap. Single front mesh pocket has plenty of stretch and volume. It is held closed by the Y-strap and so is the rest of the bag. Just one buckle to access. The integrated draw cord and compression system is easy to use and pulls the bag tight from the sides and the top.

Read MoreI've got too many bags! Here's a backpack I made a while back in lightweight fashion. The main front panel is made of one large piece of ripstop nylon (the stuff tents are made of) and has no holes sewn into the front of it. To increase water resistance, its only sewn on the edges. The rest of the bag is made of coated Cordura, except for a clear vinyl pocket up top. Remove the padded back piece to pack it down small.
